FCAT Reading, Math, Science Tests Coming Soon!
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be taking the FCAT 2.0 Assessments from April 22-30, 2014. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders take the FCAT 2.0 Reading and Math assessments and 5th graders take the Science assessment. Please be sure your child(ren) are in school on time and have had a good night's rest and healthy breakfast for each day of testing. If you'd like to help your child prepare for the tests, make sure they are working on websites such as www.fcatexplorer.com, www.florida-achieves.com (FOCUS), www.tenmarks.com, and that they are reading daily and doing their homework each night! This App will enable you to follow important school news, calendar information, notifications, and much more!You can also receive specific grade-level text messages about what’s happening in your child’s grade. The S.L.E Mobile App will be coming soon, FREE of charge, through the Apple I-tunes and Google Play Store. (Sunset Lakes Mobile App is currently available through Google Play Store).
To get the Sunset Lakes Elementary application on your phone and opt-in to our texting system, please text 72727+ your child’s current grade level.

Become a Volunteer
It takes many helping hands to produce the kind of quality education found at our school. Our volunteers are a crucial part of the total school program. They help classroom teachers, work in the Media Center, help in the clinic, tutor students, and assist with school activities.

THEIR CHARTER IN THE
NATIONAL ELEMENTARY HONOR SOCIETY
Sunset Lakes Elementary is proud to announce that it is now a chartered member of the National
Elementary Honor Society. Sunset Lakes Elementary joins the over 178 schools in the entire state of
Florida to have a charter, and one of only a few schools in Broward County.
The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) was established in 2008 by the National Association
of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) in cooperation with the National Association of Elementary
School Principals (NAESP) to recognize elementary students for their outstanding academic
achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility, to provide meaningful service to the school
and community, and to develop essential leadership skills in the students of elementary schools.
